There are passages in the Bible that tell of certain principles which were not widely accepted until hundreds or even thousands of years after they were written. Some could only be proven recently. Human knowledge and the Bible have conflicted at various points in history, but each time when the truth was proven, the Bible was shown to be correct and man to be in error. Here are some examples:

The Bible says the universe was created:

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.
Genesis 1:1 written 1400 b.c.

Until the mid 20th century, many scientists believed in the Steady State theory. This theory suggests the universe has always existed. Obviously, this belief stood in stark contrast to God’s Word which says the universe was created at a definite time in the past. New discoveries in astronomy and astrophysics then forced the scientific world to change their beliefs. Today, virtually all scientists accept the Big Bang theory which says the entire universe came into existence at a particular point in time. The Law of Entropy says systems go from a state of high energy to low energy and from order to disorder. All systems, including our universe, disintegrate over time as they decay to a lower order of available energy and organization. All scientific observations confirm everything continues to move towards a greater state of decay and disorder. Because the energy that is available is being used up and there is no source of new energy (Law of Conservation), the universe could not have always existed, it must have begun at a definite point in the past. If the universe has always existed, there would be no energy left and it would be uniform in temperature, suffering what is known as “heat death.” Entropy shows us the universe must have been created and all scientific observations confirm everything continues to decay, just like Isaiah 51:6 says, The heavens will vanish like smoke and the earth will wear out like a garment.

The Bible says humans were formed from dust:

The Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and the man became a living being.
Genesis 2:7 written 1400 b.c.

By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground since from it you were taken. For dust you are and to dust you will return.
Genesis 3:19 written 1400 b.c.

Remember that you molded me like clay. Will you now turn me to dust again?
Job 10:9 written 1900 b.c.

He knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust.
Psalm 103:14 written 1000 b.c.

All go to the same place. All come from dust and to dust all return.
Ecclesiastes 3:20 900 b.c.

For many years, scientists scoffed at the notion these verses could be accurate. Could dust actually be responsible for constructing the complex elements and molecules that make up a human being? After a century of scientific examination of the human body’s components, scientists have discovered the ground contains every element which is found in the human body. NASA’s Ames Research Center also came to the same conclusion. Their research confirmed every element in the human body can be found within the soil.

The Bible says plants and animals reproduce according to their kinds:

Then God said, “Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.” And God saw that it was good. The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. Genesis 1:11-12 written 1400 b.c.

So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living and moving thing with which the water teems, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
Genesis 1:21 written 1400 b.c.

And God said, “Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: livestock, creatures that move along the ground, and wild animals, each according to its kind.” And it was so. God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good. Genesis 1:24-25 written 1400 b.c.

They had with them every wild animal according to its kind, all livestock according to their kinds, every creature that moves along the ground according to its kind and every bird according to its kind, everything with wings.
Genesis 7:14 written 1400 b.c.

Once again, the Bible and conventional wisdom find themselves at polar opposites. Vertical transformation (macroevolution) has been taught as fact and is generally accepted to be one. The only problem is macroevolution has no scientific basis in reality. The fact is there is not a single documented case of any phylum, class, order or family changing into another. The veracity of these verses is confirmed by modern scientific observation and experimentation. Cross breeding and mutation experiments along with the fossil record strongly support Scripture which states all organisms were created, and they only reproduce according to their kind. The issue was so important to God, he inspired Moses to write this phrase 14 times in Genesis.

The Bible says springs and valleys exist on the ocean floor:

On the seventeenth day of the second month, on that day, all the springs of the great deep burst forth and the floodgates of the heavens were opened.
Genesis 7:11 written 1400 b.c.

The springs of the deep and the floodgates of the heavens had been closed and the rain had stopped falling from the sky.
Genesis 8:2 written 1400 b.c.

Have you journeyed to the springs of the sea or walked in the recesses of the deep?

Job 38:16 written 1900 b.c.

The valleys of the sea were exposed and the foundations of the earth laid bare at the rebuke of the Lord.

II Samuel 22:16 written 900 b.c.

Only in the last few decades did humanity have the technology to discover there are fresh water springs and deep valleys on the ocean floor.

The Bible describes the hydrologic cycle:

He binds up the water in his thick clouds, yet the clouds are not broken under it.
Job 26:8 written 1900 b.c.

He draws up drops of water which distill as rain from the mist which the clouds drop down and pour abundantly on man.
Job 36:27-28 written 1900 b.c.

The wind goes toward the south and turns around to the north. The wind whirls about continually and comes again on its circuit. All the rivers run into the sea, yet the sea is not full. To the place from which the rivers come, there they return again.
Ecclesiastes 1:6-7 written 900 b.c.

The Bible describes the process by which clouds are formed, rain is produced and ground water is replenished. Mankind made the same discovery in the 1600’s thousands of years after these Bible passages were written.

The Bible says the stars cannot be counted:

God brought Abraham outside and said, “Look now toward heaven and count the stars, if you are able to number them.” Then God said to him, “So shall your descendants be.”
Genesis 15:5 written 1400 b.c.

I will make the descendants of David, my servant, and the Levites who minister before me as countless as the stars of the sky and as measureless as the sand on the seashore.
Jeremiah 33:22 written 600 b.c.

For centuries, astronomers thought they could count the precise number of stars in the sky. Like the number of grains of sand on the beach, the number of stars in the sky remains a great unknown. Eventually, scientists concluded the stars could not be numbered, just as the Bible always claimed.

The Bible says laughter and kind words are good for one’s health:

A merry heart does good like medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bones.
Proverbs 17:22 written 950 b.c.

Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the bones.

Proverbs 16:24 written 950 b.c.

In the last few years, medical studies have been published which concluded laughter releases chemicals within a person’s body which boost the immune system and help contribute to good health. They have also discovered depression and stress can weaken immunity which causes any number of health problems. The Bible knew of the health virtues of laughter and kind words roughly 3,000 years before mankind was able to prove it scientifically.

The Bible contains the following dietary guidelines:

Take wheat and barley, beans and lentils, millet and spelt. Put them in a storage jar and use them to make bread for yourself.
Ezekiel 4:9 written 580 b.c.

When these six grains and legumes are combined, a complete protein is created that closely parallels the protein found in milk and eggs. It contains all 9 essential amino acids. The body cannot manufacture these amino acids itself, it must get them from food. There are a total of 18 amino acids found in this bread which is not only a source of complete protein but it also contains vitamins, minerals, and fiber.

This is a lasting ordinance for the generations to come, wherever you live: You must not eat any fat or any blood.
Leviticus 3:17 written 1400 b.c.

Do not eat any of the fat of cattle, sheep or goats. The fat of an animal found dead or torn by wild animals may be used for any other purpose, but you must not eat it. Leviticus 7:23-24 written 1400 b.c.

Wherever you live, you must not eat the blood of any bird or animal.
Leviticus 7:26 written 1400 b.c.

Do not eat any meat with the blood still in it.
Leviticus 19:26 written 1400 b.c.

You must not eat the blood, pour it out on the ground like water.
Deuteronomy 15:23 written 1400 b.c.

The fat and the blood of animals is a storage place for parasites and toxins. If people eat animal blood, they are needlessly exposing themselves to parasites and infections which can obviously cause unwanted sickness and disease.

Of all the creatures living in the water of the seas and the streams, you may eat any that have fins and scales. But all creatures in the seas or streams that do not have fins and scales – whether among all the swarming things or among all the other living creatures in the water – you are to detest.

Leviticus 11:9-10 written 1400 b.c.

Anything living in the water that does not have fins and scales is to be detestable to you.

Leviticus 11:12 written 1400 b.c.

Of all the creatures living in the water, you may eat any that has fins and scales. But anything that does not have fins and scales you may not eat; for you it is unclean.
Deuteronomy 14:9-10 written 1400 b.c.

The meat found in creatures that do not have fins and scales is dangerous. Shellfish can be placed in contaminated water, they will filter and purify the water. High concentrations of chemicals, toxins and parasites are found in shellfish. Catfish, which have fins but no scales, always show the highest levels of contamination in polluted water. Here is a list of popular water life which do not have fins and scales: catfish, clams, crabs, crawfish, eel, lobster, octopus, oysters, scallops, shrimp and squid.

You may eat any animal that has a split hoof completely divided and that chews the cud. There are some that only chew the cud or only have a split hoof, but you must not eat them.

Leviticus 11:3-4 written 1400 b.c.

The pig, though it has a split hoof completely divided, does not chew the cud. It is unclean for you.

Leviticus 11:7 written 1400 b.c.

You may eat any animal that has a split hoof divided in two and that chews the cud.

Deuteronomy 14:6 written 1400 b.c.

The pig is also unclean. Although it has a split hoof, it does not chew the cud. You are not to eat their meat or touch their carcasses.
Deuteronomy 14:8 written 1400 b.c.

All day long I have held out my hands to an obstinate people, who walk in ways not good, pursuing their own imaginations, a people who continually provoke me to my very face…who eat the flesh of pigs and whose pots hold broth of unclean meat.
Isaiah 65:2-4 written 1400 b.c.

Those who consecrate and purify themselves to go into the gardens, following the one in the midst of those who eat the flesh of pigs and rats and other abominable things, they will meet their end together,” declares the Lord.
Isaiah 66:17 written 1400 b.c.

You may eat any clean bird. But these you may not eat: the eagle, the vulture, the black vulture, the red kite, the black kite, any kind of falcon, any kind of raven, the horned owl, the screech owl, the gull, any kind of hawk, the little owl, the great owl, the white owl, the desert owl, the osprey, the cormorant, the stork, any kind of heron, the hoopoe and the bat.

Deuteronomy 14:11-18 written 1400 b.c.

The difference between clean and unclean meat is related to an animal’s primary food source and its digestive system. Animals that have a split hoof and chew their cud are good to eat because they primarily eat grasses and grains. Animals that do not have a split hoof and chew their cud are scavengers who were created for the purpose of cleaning up the environment. They are not healthy to eat because their diets are composed of refuse. Here is a list of common animals that do not have both a split hoof and chew their cud: camel, cat, dog, fox, ground hog, guinea pig, hamster, horse, opossum, rabbit, rat, rhinoceros, squirrel and swine (pigs). Birds of prey are excluded by God as acceptable to eat because of their scavenging diets. The following are clean to eat: goose, chicken, duck, quail and turkey.
